Background

From a 1979 Kenner in-package catalog:

Recreate the exciting action from that weird cantina scene. Find adventure by pushing the floor button to swing open the Cantina door so the STORMTROOPER can enter. Move the action lever and BEN KENOBI defends LUKE SKYWALKER against SNAGGLETOOTH. Move another action lever and HAN SOLO knocks over GREEDO in mock battle. Use the foot pegs around the bar to pose your Action Figures.

At least in name, this playset is often confused with the Cantina Adventure Set that was available only through Sears. Typical of early playsets, the Creature Cantina used a cardboard backdrop and plastic base. The Sears Cantina, on the other hand, was constructed entirely out of cardboard.

Features

• Button-activated opening doors.
• Two "action levers". The levers each rotate a base with a foot peg and activate a small platform on the plastic base that " jumps", knocking over an action figure.
